Veterinary Surgeon Berkshire

Are you an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a supportive and friendly team in Lower Earley (Berkshire)? We have an excellent opportunity available at a well-established practice with a diverse caseload, including exotic animals. Working alongside a branch partner with a GPCertExAP, you’ll have access to a network of multi-disciplinary certificate holders in the region. Progression towards or support for existing certificate qualifications is actively encouraged.

The clinic is part of a local network of 8 practices in the Reading region, all contributing to the Wokingham Hospital. Specialties across these branches include orthopedics, keyhole surgery, ultrasound, dermatology, and cardiology.

Role Accountabilities:

At our practice, exceptional care is paramount. In this role, you will:

  • Provide top-quality clinical care through consultations, procedures, and monitoring.
  • Facilitate smooth clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Deliver outstanding client care, providing clear updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring timely payment and minimizing debt.
  • Maximize capacity through effective utilization of clinical skills.
  • Conduct engaging clinical meetings with veterinary and nursing teams.
  • Support and carry out clinical mentoring and development for colleagues.
  • Proactively share clinical best practices within and across clinics and the wider veterinary community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum of one year of small animal practice experience.
  • Client-oriented approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working to the highest medical and surgical standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to develop the practice.
  • Competent in clinical examination and surgery.
  • Confidence in working sole charge.
  • Experience in building trusting relationships with colleagues.
