Join Our Dedicated Veterinary Team in Woodstock!

We are currently seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and experienced team in Woodstock. Our veterinary surgery, located in Oxford, operates 24 hours a day to ensure pets receive high-quality care around the clock. Woodstock, nestled on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, offers a picturesque setting with convenient access to Oxford city center.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for emergency and critical care, striving for gold standard in patient and client care. This role presents an opportunity to pursue further education, including an ECC certificate if desired.

Our team is rapidly expanding, with plans for expansion in March 24, including the introduction of a CT scanner and enhancements in orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and imaging.

This is a permanent part-time role, consisting of 7 nights on followed by 21 nights off. Shifts are scheduled from Monday to Sunday, 7 pm to 9 am.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver first-class clinical care through consultations, procedures, and monitoring
  • Facilitate clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients needing out-of-hours or enhanced care
  • Provide exceptional client care, offering clear updates and resolving issues promptly
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance
  • Ensure accurate client estimates, payment, and debt minimization
  • Optimize clinical capacity through effective utilization of skills
  • Lead engaging clinical meetings and support colleague mentoring and development
  • Actively contribute to and promote clinical best practices within the team and wider veterinary community

Requirements:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon or eligibility for registration
  • Minimum of one year of small animal practice experience
  • Client-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Experience working to the highest medical and surgical standards
  • Ability to work effectively within a team to develop practice standards
  • Competent in clinical examination and surgery, with confidence in sole charge situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering trusting relationships with colleagues
