Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Tilehurst Berkshire

Supported by nearby 24 Hour Wokingham hospital, this role offers a stimulating environment for professional growth.

This is a sole charge position, supported by a Head Nurse and Student Nurse. With a balanced work-life schedule covering 39 hours over 4 days per week, including a rotation of weekends, this role offers great flexibility.

Role Accountabilities:

Exceptional care is our priority. In this role, you will:

  • Provide top-quality clinical care through consultations, procedures, and monitoring.
  • Facilitate smooth clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring specialized care.
  • Deliver outstanding client service, offering clear updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and operational standards.
  • Prepare accurate client estimates and manage financial transactions.
  • Optimize clinical capacity through effective resource management.
  • Conduct informative clinical meetings and mentor colleagues.
  • Proactively share best practices within our community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon or eligible for registration.
  • Minimum one year of small animal practice experience.
  • Strong client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in medical and surgical standards.
  • Collaborative team player with experience in practice development.
  • Competent in clinical examination and surgery.
  • Confidence in sole charge responsibilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust with colleagues and clients.
