Lead Veterinary Surgeon Merthyr Tydfil Wales

This role empowers you to run your practice with clinical autonomy in partnership with us, while enjoying the full support of our regional teams and the dedicated staff at the Merthyr Tydfil practice.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary package of up to £80,000, based on experience.
  • Generous £1,500 CPD allowance and 3 days of CPD leave.
  • Coverage of BVA, VDS, and RCVS fees.
  • 5 weeks of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays.

Key Accountabilities: In addition to your daily responsibilities in the practice, where you provide exceptional care to your patients and clients, you will also play a crucial role in leading and managing the team. Your drive and ambition will contribute to the development of the practice, ensuring the consistent delivery of high standards of care.

As a qualified MRCVS, you should already possess substantial experience in small animal practice. You should be proficient in clinical examination and surgery, with the confidence to work independently or as part of a team. This includes strong communication and feedback skills, the ability to share knowledge, and the capacity to lead by setting a positive example for others.

The practice has recently undergone a refurbishment, featuring three consultation rooms, a spacious prep room with a theater, and an imaging suite in close proximity. The addition of a new X-ray machine, dental X-ray equipment, and a high-quality ultrasound machine enhances the practice’s diagnostic capabilities. On-site lab facilities and ample client and staff parking are also available.

The Branch: Our Merthyr Tydfil branch has undergone recent renovations, featuring three consultation rooms, a theater, and an imaging suite equipped with a new X-ray machine and dental X-ray capabilities. Our dedicated team includes RVNs, SVNs, and Receptionists. Additionally, we have branches in Mountain Ash and Ystradgynlais, which collaborate with Merthyr in various surgical procedures, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
